Itinerary:

This tour is based in Buxton, one of the prettiest towns in the Peak District and includes visits to some of the loveliest gardens and houses in England while travelling through the spectacular scenery of the Peak District.

Sunday, 6 July
Iain MacDonald will meet you at Dublin airport for your mid-day Aer Lingus flight to Manchester. We then transfer by coach to Lyme Park. The Palladian house is set in ancient hunting grounds and surrounded by grand gardens which include herbaceous borders, a detailed Dutch garden and an elegant orangery. We then transfer to our hotel in Buxton – the Paramount Palace Hotel (www.paramount-palace.co.uk). Free time to relax before dining together as a group.

Monday, 7 July
The whole day is spent at Chatsworth. A vast spectacular garden together with a magnificent Baroque Palace make this a day to remember.
We will have guided tours of both house and garden and free time to explore your area of special interest.
Dine together as group in hotel.

Tuesday, 8 July
A free morning to spend in Buxton. We leave early afternoon to visit Haddon Hall – a romantic house in an exquisite setting with terraced gardens of great charm.
Return to hotel to dine together.

Wednesday, 9 July
A leisurely morning before we check out. We visit Little Moreton Hall – one of Englnad’s most famous houses; this lopsided, lavishly decorated, half-timbered manor is complimented by a brilliantly reconstructed period garden.
Our final garden of the tour is at Biddulph Grange – a unique and exotic garden, one of the most innovative of the 19th century with Chinese, Egyptian and Italian styles all seamlessly linked together.
We then proceed to Manchester airport for our evening flight to Dublin arriving at 20.00.

Iain MacDonald, a qualified and experienced gardener and guide, escorts this tour; he will be available at all times to help and advise you.
