Itinerary:

The highlight of this tour is a visit to Monet’s Garden in Giverny. We are based in central Paris, within walking distance of the Louvre.

Tuesday, 3rd June
Meet Iain MacDonald at Dublin Airport for our early morning Aer Lingus flight to Paris. On arrival private coach to Versailles, the chateau of the Sun King, the most sumptuous residence ever built by a ruler, surrounded by the garden of fountains. Free time for lunch before visiting the garden and palace. We then travel to our conveniently situated hotel, Paris Les Halles. Dine together as a group.

Wednesday, 4th June
Today two famous gardens, In the morning a visit to the palace at Fontainebleau. Then on to Vaux Le Vicomte, one of the finest French style gardens including ornate beds, waterfalls and woods. Return to hotel. Evening free to to explore the restaurants of Paris.

Thursday, 5th June
After breakfast we travel to Giverny to visit the garden created by Monet and familiar to all who have seen his paintings. He devoted his life – and all his money! - to the garden. Although it was neglected after his death, both house and garden have been carefully restored to their former glory. There is also time to visit the American Impressionist’s Art Gallery and Garden in the village.
Free evening or we can arrange a dinner on one of the boats that cruise the Seine in the evenings (optional).

Friday, 6th June
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and luggage may be left while you spend the day shopping or exploring Paris.
Maps of Paris will be provided and Iain will be available to advise and direct you.
Return to the hotel at 17.30 hrs. for our coach transfer to the airport. Our evening flight to Dublin arrives at 21.30..

Iain MacDonald, a qualified and experienced gardener and guide, escorts this tour. She will be available at all times to help and advise you.
